Elena Lanza

Elena Lanza is the coordinator for Spanish 199 and the SLP Assistant Director. Academic degrees: B.A., University of Salamanca (Spain); M.A. in Hispanic Studies-Linguistics, University of Illinois at Chicago.
She is originally from Santander, Spain. Teaching Spanish as a second language has always been her passion. She started teaching Spanish in Salamanca (School Don Quijote) and soon developed an interest in second language acquisition focused on intercultural topics. She has taught in different institutions with very different student bodies, which sparked a deep interest in group dynamics. In addition, she is very interested in the use of Internet resources in the language classroom.
