The Department of Spanish and Portuguese offers courses in language, literature, and culture that speak to a variety of interests, whether focused on Latin America or the Iberian Peninsula, or on some aspect of literature, language, or culture that cuts across geographic divides.

The development of fluency in reading, speaking, and writing the language is an important goal of courses at all levels.
